Christmas card competition winners announced!

Hundreds of local schoolchildren have taken part in a Christmas card competition with the winning designs made into professionally printed Christmas cards. The Upper Springfield Whiterock Integrated Partnership team asked local school children to submit their festive designs and 2 winners were chosen out of over 250 entries.

USWIP’s Michael Donnelly explains further saying:  “We had a number of schools take part in our Christmas card competition including Holy Trinity PS, Bunscoil PS, and John Paul II.  The standard of entries was incredibly high and it was a hard decision picking just 2 winners.  As difficult as it was, Kayla Slavin Fisher, P7 at Holy Trinity Primary School, and Aoibhín Ní Scollain, P6 at Bunscoil an tSleibhe Dhuibh, both won the Christmas card competition. Kayla’s card included a colourful reindeer and Aoibhín’s featured a great drawing of Santa on a rooftop.”

The girls’ cards were on sale at our Christmas event and all money raised has gone to the Whiterock Children’s Centre Christmas Appeal. Cards can also be bought at Upper Springfield Development Trust’s reception (while stocks last!) for 50p each.”
