Contact Community Sports
Mission Statement:
To develop an inclusive community sport programme to provide increased opportunities for all to participate in sport and physical activity, at a level of their choice.
In order to realise this mission statement, and in partnership with Sport Belfast and BCSDN, we have identified five key goals:
- Goal One: PARTNERSHIP – Creating effective coordination, partnerships and communication
- Goal Two: CAPACITY – Building community, volunteer and club capacity
- Goal Three: FACILITIES – Developing effective use of the right facilities in the right places
- Goal Four: PARTICIPATION – Increasing levels of participation
- Goal Five: PERFORMANCE – Developing pathways to performance
The range of services delivered by the sports unit across West Belfast include:
- Inclusive Community Sport programme (large range of sports and physical activity sessions facilitated for all groups)
- Sport Development Planning / Club Development Programmes / Plans
- Funding advice and support in relation to sport and physical activity projects
- School based and after-school physical activity and sports programmes
- Midnight Soccer / Midnight Activities (Various sports)
- Sport / physical activity programme development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation
- Community based sports coaches and Coach Education
- Multi Sports / Multi Skill Clubs
- Sport Development Programming (for sports facilities)
- West Belfast Sport and Physical Activity Forum
